First and foremost:
Don't ask or argue. Install the Grab app and go.
While there are buses connecting downtown Lebanon to the airport,
catching one can be quite challenging due to the intricate route.
It took me several days to figure out the bus system in Lebanon, and I'll share a fascinating (albeit dizzying) episode about that later.
If you've got the Grab app installed, the next step is a breeze.
Simply head to the airport and hail a Grab.
But, here's a tip: keep several one-dollar bills handy.
While you can give 5 or 10 dollars, they'll refund you in Lebanese money. Additionally, the currency exchange rate is at the discretion of the driver. During my trip, spending dollars presented no issues, and I found it to be more advantageous.
Of course, navigating all this is smoother if you're proficient in French or Arabic...
While I took a taxi multiple times, I never encountered scams or any issues.
And since buses don't operate late in the evening,
taxis become the only option if you find yourself venturing into the city during the late hours.
Here are some additional tips:
On your first night, consider staying in Beirut's tourist district (Gemmayzeh).
It makes travel more convenient.
