How to Walk Out from Bali International Airport
During a recent layover in Bali,
I found myself needing to stay for just one night before my next flight.
I quickly realized that the cost of a taxi for a mere 15 minute walk from the airport were quite expensive, amounting to nearly 10 dollars.
Additionally, it seemed that the hotels near the airport, despite their high costs, no longer offered shuttle bus services.
In light of these circumstances, I made the decision to walk to a guest house near Lippo Mall Kuta.
One of the advantages of walking out of the airport is the opportunity to find a taxi at a more reasonable price.
Initially, I relied on Google Maps for directions.
However, I discovered that the suggested route involved unnecessary detours and hazardous road crossings for reaching my destination. I followed these directions last June(2023), around 7 pm in the evening.
Airport Shortcut Revealed: A Scenic Path near the Mosque in Kuta
The next day, I opted for an alternative, narrower road that Google Maps did not recommend.
This turned out to be a shortcut that was much safer.
I arrived at my destination on time, in the early morning. It appears that many other tourists have also started choosing this route.

By taking this route, you can easily reach any location in Kuta. Behind the mosque, you'll find numerous guesthouses offering affordable prices. It's an excellent opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner with a local ambiance.
