#Sara Guest House: A Cozy Accommodation in Maubisse

During my visit to Maubisse, I discovered that accommodation options were somewhat limited. 

Unfortunately, the highly recommended Pousada de Maubisse was undergoing repairs, and even the "green school" mentioned on WhatsApp had not yet opened its doors.

As I preferred staying in a more secluded area away from the town center, I found that the Quinta De Sivas Guest House I initially had in mind was already fully booked. It became evident that booking in advance is necessary to secure a room in Maubisse.

Fortunately, I managed to secure a room at Sara Guest House, a well-known establishment conveniently located along the main road. You can easily spot it as it stands out. Sara Guest House features a three-story building, with the ground floor serving as a restaurant. I paid 35 dollars for one night, and breakfast was included in the price (as of 10/6/2023).

While the room advertised the availability of hot water for showers, I was disappointed to find that it was not functioning during my stay. This was quite frustrating, considering the chilly nights in Maubisse. However, the staff provided extra blankets to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. Additionally, there was an electric kettle available in the kitchen, allowing me to enjoy a late-night cup of tea. Breakfast was served on the terrace, offering a delightful spread of fresh bread, fried eggs, and ginger tea, as well as the obligatory coffee. From the terrace, I could appreciate the view of the local market.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to dine at Sara's restaurant, but I heard great things about it. On my way to the guest house, I tried another nearby restaurant “Amizada Maybisse” that served simple yet satisfying dishes such as cooked rice and fried chicken, all for less than 2 dollars. The restaurant also offered a lovely view.

If I were to visit Maubisse again, I would consider booking at Sara Guest House once more. While the room conditions may not meet everyone's expectations, the staff members were incredibly kind, helpful, and the overall atmosphere felt secure.
